Happy Thanksgiving 2014

American Wild Turkey.  Did you know this could well have been our national bird?  But instead millions of them (domesticated) are consumed every year on Thanksgiving!

But instead our founding fathers were small enough to name the American Bald Eagle as our national bird and national animal.  What a proud majestic creature!

Week 49: Survivor BuckPBKJ4813-FrameShop

Didn’t have much time or much day light left, was happy to find one of the “Twins” after the first Illinois Shotgun hunting season.

Calendar shows 5 weeks left in 2014, but this is post #49, so this might end up being a 53 week project.

Kent’s Cove GSMNP

I was contacted by the National Parks Service while I was in the Smoky Mountains in September.  They wanted the rights to use my name to rebrand Cades Cove into Kent’s Cove.

I recently received a prototype hat.  What do you think?
