I got invited back to the 3rd annual Shotmaker Invitational. This year’s event was held in Willow Park, Texas at the Squaw Creek Golf Course. This is the same group of guys that invited me to join their regular Friday, Saturday, and Sunday tee times. Here is a link to the 2017 event to meet most of the gang along with their nick names. I didn’t write a blog about the 2017 event at Buffalo Creek Golf Course. I had to miss last year (2018) due to a work commitment.
This year the chairman (Dennis “Beek” Verbeek really upped the the event’s swag.
Friday and Saturday is the team event with individuals scores included in the three day stroke play individual event. Friday front nine was a Shambles, and the back nine was a Scramble.
Dan and I were the leaders by one stroke after day one.
I also had a 1 stroke lead headed into Saturday. Saturday was the final day of the team event and the format was two man best ball net scoring.
Dan and I ended up wining and I extended my lead to 4 strokes.

Bag tags for the winning team and we earned our names on the pin flag. Saturday concluded with a great Texas BBQ meal at Railhead BBQ

Of course I had to leave it for the next 3 groups to admire.
Red on Sundays! Jimmy Reed (JR), Bill Eaves (Buzz), and me (Hooch) got a new nick name after the weight loss.

I shot my best round so far of 2019 to win the event. A 75 with two birdies and a holed out Eagle from 108.
This was a great event on a really nice course! Looking forward to next year’s event already! Just in case you guys lost the link the Christmas Party 2016 .
